Maple Glazed Salmon

This maple glazed salmon recipe is so easy, and it is truly satisfying. The salmon takes less than 15 minutes to cook and goes great over a green salad or alongside roasted veggies. Marinating the fish flesh side down for a few hours or overnight will create a beautiful glaze when it cooks! The end result reminds me of a perfectly smoked salmon, with a savory candy glaze on the outside, and a moist filet that flakes perfectly on the inside. I love serving this alongside my Oven Roasted Broccoli.

Dietary Notes:

• Make sure to use wild salmon for optimal health benefits.
GAPS: use honey.
SCD: use honey; use 2 teaspoons mustard in place of coconut aminos/balsamic vinegar.

Ingredients

salmon filets, 6 oz each, wild caught 4
maple syrup 3 tbsp
coconut aminos 3 tbsp
garlic, crushed, optional 1 tsp
sea salt to taste

Directions:

  1. Marinate salmon for at least one hour, or overnight, in a shallow dish with the flesh of the salmon filet facing down and the skin side up. This allows the filet to really soak up the flavors.
  2. After marinating, discard used marinade.

Oven Method:

  • Bake at 450°F for 10 to 15 minutes, until the fish easily flakes.

Grill Method:

  • Grill on the BBQ, skin side down, for approximately 10 minutes, or until fish flakes easily.
