Magic Shell Chocolate Sauce
This Magic Shell Chocolate Sauce firms up magically when it hits the cold ice cream. You will totally impress your friends, family, and even yourself! This chocolate sauce takes a homemade dessert to the next level of awesomeness! It’s super simple to make too! This is an excellent option for quick and easy chocolate fondues or for drizzling over my Simple Chocolate Brownies!
Ingredients
coconut oil | 3 tbsp | |
cacao powder | 3 tbsp | |
maple syrup (*or stevia), to taste | 1 tsp |
Directions:
- Melt the coconut oil by heating up a small saucepan with water 1″ deep. Then, take a small mason jar and set it in the middle of the saucepan on the stove, temperature set to medium. Add the coconut oil to the jelly jar (this will act as a double boiler) and wait for the oil to melt.
- Next, add the cacao powder and sweetener to the coconut oil.
- Try not to get the coconut oil too hot, as you just want to lightly heat it to melt.
- Serve. Spoon the chocolate sauce slowly over a dish of ice cream or sorbet. Or, dip chilled fruit into the chocolate sauce, and the chocolate will firm up when it hits the cold fruit. The chocolate sauce will firm up when it hits the cold surface of the ice cream creating a “magic shell”.
Dietary Notes:
GAPS + Low Carb: use stevia
