Paleo Chocolate Avocado Mousse
I understand the hesitation to try this chocolate avocado mousse, but don’t miss out on this rich and velvety treat! I promise that the avocado flavor doesn’t come through. This quick and simple recipe is great simply served for dessert, but I’ve also been known to use it as icing on birthday cakes. Not only is this kid-approved, it is kid-loved!
Ingredients
avocados (ripe & seeds removed) | 3 small
cocoa powder (unsweetned) | ⅓ cup
coconut milk (or other milk of preference) | ⅓ cup
maple syrup | ⅓ cup | |
vanilla extract | 1½ tsp | |
sea salt | pinch |
Directions:
- Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender and process until smooth. Use a spatula to clean the sides of the mixing vessel as necessary.
- Taste. Because of the varying sizes of avocados and individual taste preferences, you may need to add syrup, coconut milk, or salt. Make necessary adjustments and process until added ingredients are well incorporated.
- Transfer mousse to an airtight container and chill for at least 1 hour in the fridge before serving.
- I’m sure you won’t have a problem ensuring this doesn’t last more than 4 days in the fridge.
